Notes from the teachers

We get the best notes from Genevieve's teachers. A few weeks ago I picked Genevieve up from school and received a note that said: "Genevieve tried to poop on the potty today. She said, I can't poop, I can only toot!" We about died, it was so funny. On Friday we received another note that said: "Miss Jennifer was teasing Genevieve today and asked her what is wrong with everyone today (they were all wild)? And Genevieve said without missing a beat, we are only two!" Yesterday we received this note: "Genevieve had a very good day today. She did get in trouble for pulling someone's hair and she was heartbroken. She is never in trouble and it was a suprise to her." We love good feedback from her teachers!

But my favorite note was written by Miss Janet in her previous class that said: "Genevieve is such a joy to have in class. She is my rock because I can always depend on her to listen, to follow directions and to see her have fun in our days together. I love how she is so excited and eager about life. Keep up the good work. You have raised a gem."

For those of you who don't know, Genevieve attends the daycare at our church. She has so much fun there and has made such great friends. The staff is so wonderful and you can really tell that they care about the kids. Michael and I cannot imagine taking her anywhere else. Thank you to all of the loving staff at ECC.

Genevieve's going to be a big sister!

Not really but that's what she told everyone about three weeks ago. I went to pick her up from school and her teacher, Miss Jamie, said that Genevieve kissed her daddy good-bye this morning, ran into the room and made a little announcement. I was completely mortified when I asked, "what did she say?" Genevieve announced that she was going to be a big sister! My jaw hit the floor, good news is, I knew where she got this idea. Her Nana and Papa got her a Dora the Explorer DVD for Christmas titled Big Sister Dora. The episode is all about Dora getting home because her mommy is having a baby and she is going to be a big sister. Interesting enough, Michael and Genevieve were watching it that morning before she went to school. And on the way to school, Genevieve asked Michael if I was having a baby and if she was going to be a big sister. Michael told her no, but I guess she didn't understand. So I had to set everyone straight and inform them that she is not going to be a big sister anytime soon. Now when I tell people this story they think I'm trying to announce that I'm having a baby. Too funny!

I think we're up to speed!

Or at least as close as we can get! We bought a computer a few weeks ago but the internet just got turned back on two days ago. So I am trying to get caught up, as you can read below. I'm going to be better about posting stuff on here because now I have no excuses. Look for more updates coming soon!

Christmas at Nana and Papa's

A few days later we celebrated Christmas with my family at Genevieve's Nana and Papa's house. She made out like a bandit once again, her Aunt Angie, Uncle Troy, Nana and Papa just spoil her.

She got an inch worm! Her Uncle Troy use to just love his (Nana has the pictures to prove it).

Christmas

We all had a great Christmas this year, especially Genevieve. Michael and I tried so hard to not go over board, we started shopping several months in advance. Shopping early has it advantages and disadvantages. Advantage, you don't go broke in December. Disadvantage, you forget about all of the stuff that you bought until you go to wrap it and find out how much you truly bought (which turned out to be a lot!). After Genevieve put her cookies out for Santa and went to bed, Michael and I then began setting up for Christmas morning. Below are a few pictures of Genevieve enjoying Christmas morning.

Cookies for Santa

This year, even though we couldn't get Genevieve to go near Santa to save her life, we decided to make cookies for Santa. Genevieve was so cute, she even helped me make them, she unwrapped the Hershey's Kisses for me.

She even took them to the fireplace all by herself.

Needless to say, in the morning, the cookies and milk were all gone (courtesy of Michael). We had such a good time, we will definately be making cookies for Santa next year.

Halloween Gifts for Genevieve's Teachers

So I opted to get creative this year when it came to giving something to Genevieve's teachers for Halloween. It took me forever to make these but I think they turned out really good. Actually I liked them so much I didn't want to give them away, but I did. I'm looking forward to doing this again, only with a different holiday.
